Loved the part about flies, laying eggs at -17 degrees. So believable! :)
"These disease-ridden insects that appeared out of nowhere behaved in a very strange manner. They were shockingly resistant to disease. The flies could lay eggs in temperatures that reached 17 degrees below zero."
I particularly enjoy the implication that they can engineer flies that can lay eggs that survive -17C, but can't engineer diseases that survive at "hot drinking water" temperatures of...what...50C??
My grandmother and every other TCM doc I know has said women especially should not drink cold beverages because it’s bad for our reproductive system. 🫠
Right, if it was just a matter of sanitation, then there shouldn't be a problem with boiling water, and then cooling it down and filling it with ice cubes to drink. China's just weirdly obsessed with staying uncomfortably warm. Like there's hot foot baths which are supposedly "good for you" too.
