Interesting factoid on gyms in the US: if everybody who paid for a membership used it, they couldn't stay in business. Their business model is predicated on most people never actually showing up at the gym.
Yeah, that's just how the fitness industry works :P They know that exercising sucks. Nobody actually wants to do it. Trying to open a business that's actually focused on getting people to exercise is far less likely to work than opening a business that bets on people not showing up to exercise
