3/6/23 - It must be so nice to be patiently loved.
The hashtag #15-year-old girl is admitted to Xi’an Jiaotong University is trending, and a charity blogger posts, “Are you still being blinded by stereotypes? In reality, girls are more suited to STEM subjects. Taking a survey of southern cities with GDP over 20K USD, whether it’s middle school exams or high school exams, whether it’s humanities subjects or STEM subjects, girls’ average score is higher than guys’.”
“Looking at just the subject of maths, men and women do equally as well. Looking at the statistics from Shejiang Province for 2006-2010, there are more than 1% of men in the scored under 29 category. In 2010, that percentage rose to 3.5%. But whether the questions are easier or harder, men have a higher percentage in the high marks category too. In other words, men have more geniuses and more retards, whereas girl’s scores are more stable.”
“After studying the results from the 2009, 2012, and 2015 PISA Maths Test, scientists believe that there is no difference in maths capability among middle schoolers between the two genders.”
Comments add, “In Dynastic China, everyone said women can’t write essays. Now, people are saying women can only write essays and don’t know how to do STEM. One day, when we have magic classes, I’m sure men will start saying women can only write essays and do maths and can’t learn magic too.”
Someone reblogs the story of the man with a domestic violence record beating his lawyer in court. Everyone is laughing in the comments. “lmao, feel like I missed out on so much drama because I didn’t go into law.”
Someone posts a video of a kid (6-7 years old) climbing up and down the seats on the subway, dumping his bag of snacks out on the seat and picking them up one by one by hand and eating them. OP says that at first, they were sympathetic, as the kid was dressed pretty poor, but once he started climbing everywhere with his parents not even caring, he could only stay as far away as he can. Comments say, “Even my dog turns his nose down at food that’s on the floor. If you can’t take care of a kid, why give birth to him?”
A nutritionist and health blogger says that when she’s looking for a daycare for her son, she talked to the owner there who complained that she’s got more and more wrinkles and white hairs, and asked OP what advice they have as a professional nutritionist.
OP said that if a woman wants to take care of herself, the best way is to not start a business, not get a job, and not take care of kids. Fill your life with music, chess, books, art, poetry, wine, and flowers, and never ask about heating, food, bills, etc. Even OP’s own daughter, from pregnancy to giving birth to raising a baby these last 4 years, OP has been monitoring her health and nutrition and exercise every day, and she’s still gaining wrinkles and white hairs every day.
When your stress value is bigger than your leisure value, it doesn’t matter what you do. Beginner health and nutrition is about what you do. High level health and nutrition is all about who your parents are.
Real estate blogger posts someone’s post that, “Don’t let strangleholds be an excuse for incompetence!”
“If someone won’t sell something that’s you desperately need, what should you do? You have to keep negotiating. Or, worst case scenario, figure out how to build it yourself. If you really can’t build it yourself, that’s you being incompetent. Don’t blame other people for putting a stranglehold on you, because it was their stuff to begin with.
In 1972, we dug up the silken monk robes in archeological investigations, and Japan wanted to pay 150K USD to buy a single strand of fabric for study in science and we refused to sell it. Is that a stranglehold? If Japan wants it, they have to figure it out themselves.
Spending all your time complaining about strangleholds just communicates that, look, the reason I can’t achieve this is because everyone is being mean to me, not because I’m just terrible at it. And that causes a habit to blame everything on everyone else, instead of figuring out your own problems.
In the 50s, when the Soviet Union abandoned our nuclear project half way and withdrew all their personnel, that was a stranglehold. It took many of our own top scientists to finish the project. That means to solve any problem, you need to emphasise internal cooperation.”
The blogger agrees that yeah, if someone else has technology, that’s none of your business, they have no obligation to share it with you. You can’t really badmouth them for not wanting to hand their stuff over to you. This is a very good angle on America holding onto its intellectual properties. Especially since, if two people already have a bad relationship and are on the verge of having a fight, and all of a sudden, one of them wants the other one to buy them food, and they refuse, saying, “Oh wow, that’s such an asshole thing to do.” doesn’t seem very fair either.
Comments say, “Yeah, it’s not like we couldn’t just start protecting our own intellectual property. Unless…we don’t have any?”
A humour blogger complains that domestic terrorists are getting more and more shameless these days. There’s a lot of tiktok videos of Uyghur girls and boys just going about their daily lives or filming their weddings, and people will take them and change the background music and put on fake subtitles and make it look like it’s a video asking for help. A lot of times, the original uploaders have no idea they’ve become the protagonists in terroristic propaganda films. Comments lament that now videos documenting life in Xinjiang are getting banned left and right.
Memphis zoo uploads a video of Yaya lying on the ground, chomping away at bamboo for breakfast. Comments say the claim is, this is just a setup video and the bamboo shown in the video is all they’re feeding her and are still urging for Yaya to be returned.
Apparently, someone became famous on the internets for having a shitton of kids, so a writer is blogging about the Guinness World Record for the most number of kids. Including Simon from Britain, who has 800 offspring from donating sperm; an Islamic ruler in medieval times who had over 500 wives and 867 children; the founder of Saudi Arabia, who was married over 300 times and have 93 children with 41 wives; and the woman who had the most number of children, Valentina Vassilyev. Comments point out that people aren’t scared because he had a lot of kids. People are scared because everyone else has kids that are old and young, many years apart from biggest to smallest, and an even distribution of gender. But Yubo has a room full of boys all the exact same age.
A former idol was found working in a clothes shop in Beijing. Fans find him and reassure him that, “Everyone is pretty happy that you’re living your own life. Even though we can’t see you very often now, we’re still supporting you. You’re a very sensitive person, you’ve been through a lot, and we’re very happy that you can focus now on working hard, making money, and maybe, one day, we’ll see each other again.” Comments are mad that the idol who bullied him out of the industry is still famous.
A writer marvels at a video of a black father and daughter, making a coffee together. She had apparently chosen a very complicated recipe, so there were a lot of steps, but her father was sitting next to her, encouraging her the whole time. She was super cute, pretending to wipe sweat and sigh like an adult, but getting more and more confident with every step. When she accidentally pours stuff all over the counter, the father is like, “Ok! Ok! Stop! Stop!” but he didn’t blame her at all, and just kept patiently making coffee with her and praising her. And when she was done, she looked super happy and proud of herself.
When she saw this video, she just felt like patience is the greatest expression of love. She feels like a lot of kids abandon their interests because they got yelled at when they were little for making a mistake. But it doesn’t matter if this little girl screws up, because her parents are like, “So long as you complete it, you are the best!!” And her hands really are pretty steady, she hardly ever spills.
Someone in her comments said, “Her hands are steady exactly because she’s spilled something 100 times and never been yelled at.”
OP sighs that it must be so nice to be patiently loved.
Comments say, “It’s only when I see videos like these that I find out you don’t have to get yelled at for making oopsies.”
