“My boyfriend yelled at me all night for buying two peaches. I went to the supermarket with him last night, and he asked me what I wanted to eat. I saw the peaches looked tasty (and I took a peek at the price but didn’t particularly notice how much it was). So he was like, sure, let’s weigh out three, and we picked them out together. Since they were pretty big, I said just two would be enough. Then when we weighed it, the two peaches were 20 RMB! We were both shocked! And at the time, I didn’t think it was worth it either. But he saw how much I wanted peaches so he ended up buying it anyways.
But when we got home, I noticed he looked super upset. He even set his social media status to a [splitting apart] emoji. So I knew he must be unhappy. I told him I’m leaving a peach for him, and he was like, “No, I can’t afford to eat that shit.” And then he complained to his friend and told me to stop texting him for a while. Every time he saw my texts, he’d remember what happened T_T He even said he wanted to block me for a night, but he didn’t end up doing it. And then he was all like, “All you girls are the same.” I asked him what he meant, and he wouldn’t respond. He wouldn’t stop talking about it all night. It made me super uncomfortable too.
I was already feeling kind of embarrassed about the whole thing, so I was comforting him the whole time, but I also feel like he’s kind of overreacting. If it was me, I might have freaked out while buying the peaches or shortly after. But it’s already bought now, there’s nothing I can do to change that, I just gotta watch out next time. I would never spent a whole night thinking about this. I really want to know, what would you guys’ reactions be?”
Comments say, “No way, it’s not like you want it every day. You just got surprised this one time. Just joke about it to each other and watch out next time. Why is he acting like he got his balls cut off?”
“It’s 10 RMB, not 100. So what if you wasted a little bit of money? Is this really necessary?”
“”All you girls are the same.”? Break up, sister, he’s rating you. If you spend a little more, he thinks you’re after his money. Although a 10 RMB peach is expensive, you’ve already bought it. You should just enjoy your peach and watch out next time. Fundamentally, he just doesn’t want to spend more than his ideal price on stuff.”
“What the media wants to you see vs. What actually happened:”

The spine of the book reads, “The Apocalypse Is Approaching.” And is captioned, “What the professor thinks.” The bookend covering up the cover is labelled, “The media.” And the two characters showing through the opening in the bookend means, “fuck pussy” and is labelled, “What people see.”
“A couple of years earlier, I persisted in jogging for 3 years to lose weight. Probably ran a total of over 3000 kilometres in that time. It’s been two years since I last jogged. The main reason is that my immune system collapsed and I don’t really dare to run anymore.
While I was jogging, a lot of people who jogged long-term checked in on me, telling me to watch out for my immune system weakening. Honestly, at the time, I already felt like my immune system was failing, but since I was addicted, I kept jogging anyways. It wasn’t until I suffered severe heat stroke on two jogs that I finally stopped. The first couple of months after I stopped jogging, I couldn’t handle any wind, any cold, any sweat. As soon as I get any kind of wind on me, I catch a cold. Honestly, at that point, my immune system had already collapsed. I shouldn’t have kept going.
I see a lot of people singing the praises of jogging on the internet, and nobody talks about what havoc it wrecks on your immune system. This proves that most of the jogging videos on the internet are faked. You don’t actually get healthier by jogging at all.
The immune system is the unavoidable problem about jogging. Most joggers just kind of start on a whim, with no instruction, and once they persist for long enough, they get addicted. Anyone who’s jogged long term knows what I’m talking about. After about 30 minutes of jogging, your body goes into autopilot mode. Your legs automatically move forward, your heart rate lowers, the pain in your muscles are covered up by your endorphins and you don’t feel it anymore. It’s the same theory as doing drugs. A lot of joggers really enjoy this state, to the point that they get severely injured jogging and don’t notice it. They have no idea they’re jogging too much. After a while, always over-sweating combined with not resting enough means their immune system starts to tank, or even completely fail. I’m the latter—my immune system completely collapsed.
Nobody talks about this problem on the internet. Even if they do, it’s just a one sentence mention of, “Don’t over-exercise, or your immune system will suffer.” This actually happened to me. I had to stop jogging because my immune system collapsed. It’s been two years now. I’m talking about this so that other people who are jogging on a regular basis can learn from me and avoid my mistakes.
The initial systems of lowering immune system: catching lots of colds after jogging, getting continuous colds, can’t stand wind, can’t stand cold, achy joints, gets better if you rest for a few days, don’t feel like jogging sometimes.
The symptoms of a collapsing immune system: always having a cold, headaches, can’t stand cold, can’t stand wind, gets dizzy when you sweat. At the most severe point, your head can’t touch water at all. Even if you’re just a little damp with sweat, you’ll get dizzy, especially in the summer time. Every time you get dizzy, it feels like you’re about to die. It’s scary to even think about. For about a year, I feel like I was in control of my own life. I felt like life was super fragile, like my body had no defenses at all. I only slowly recovered after two years of not jogging.
This is all my actual experience. I don’t know if it’ll affect anyone else’s plans to jog or not. I’m using my actual experience to say that jogging really affects the immune system. Sure, jogging is a great exercise. But resting and nutrition are far more important than exercising. The purpose of exercise is health. Don’t overdo it and end up negatively affecting your health.”
Comments say, “Three years, 3000 kilometres, so like you did 3 kilometres a day and ended up so weak? You’re kind of a pussy, aren’t you?”
“Before I caught covid, I regularly exercised and never felt anything was off. After I got covid, my stamina noticeably went down, and my heart rate is irregular now. I catch colds more easily after exercise. Now my stamina’s recovered a little, but it still can’t compare to what I was at before covid.”
“Only 3000 kilometres after 3 years? You’re barely a beginner in jogging. You’re just weak, bro, it has nothing to do with jogging.”
A livestreamer working for East Buy [a shopping livestream] has gotten into a ton of trouble for saying, “918 is such a lucky number!” during his stream. Easy Buy’s customer service has replied, “The company is taking this issue very seriously and has reported it to the higher ups. We will deal with it as quickly as possible.”
[The 9/18 Event is the term used to refer to the Mukden Incident that sparked Japan’s invasion of Manchuria.]
Comments say, “He’s just trying to get in trouble at this point XD”
“911 is a pretty lucky number too.”
“I mean, in the proper context, he’s not wrong, technically. He’s just not politically sensitive enough, I guess.”
“I remember a scene from The Tangshan Earthquake [a movie based on the true events of the Tangshan earthquake], where a family only had one tomato left, and the mother gave it all to the son. At the time, I remember wondering why she didn’t just cut it in half, so each of her kids can have half. Then later on, the two kids ended up crushed under the same slab of rock, and the mother chose to save her son and abandon her daughter. People who don’t think of you on trivial matters won’t think of you on big stuff either.”
Comments say, “I’ve got a coworker born in ’84 in Anhui, and he said that his auntie was locked in the shed by his grandpa and starved to death, because they needed to save all the food for their only son—his dad.”
“Now this kind of movie that goes against the Chinese cultural spirit is banned from being made :D :D :D”
“She could only save one of them, and the movie said, at the time, only the son was responding to the rescue workers. The daughter wasn’t making any sound at all. Did you watch the movie with your ass?”
“I was on the subway today, and a young couple was sitting opposite to me. The girl was fairly good-looking, while the guy was……indescribable.
I heard the girl tell her boyfriend, “I saw [so and so]’s boyfriend today. He’s so ugly.”
The guy was like, “Uglier than me?”
At the time, I thought she’d comfort him, like all oh no, sweetie, you’re not ugly.
After a few seconds, the girl said, “He’s not the same kind of ugly.”
Comments say, “XD Lol, maybe that’s just her little brother?”
“Honesty is the greatest virtue in love.”
“Hahahahaha for some reason, I feel like this is a super interesting couple that’s gonna last a long time.”
Lately, Lisa, a Korean pop idol, put on a show at Crazy Horse in Paris that’s been getting a lot of discussion on the internet. I don’t have a video of the performance on hand because they keep getting censored off the Chinese internet, but I would describe it as “Jennifer Lopez Super Bowl half-time show” levels of sexy. A compilation of the comments talking about this event:
“Crazy Horse show is meant to be a homonym for Crazy Whores. Translating it literally as a crazy horse show in Chinese is being super conservative.”
“I’m so glad Korean entertainment is limited in China—with how much influence she has, I can’t imagine how many young girls would follow in her lead.”
“She’s the lead in her group! She’s super influential. She could’ve decided not to go. But now that she’s started the trend, all the less influential idols who don’t have a say are gonna get forced into putting on shows too.”
“I feel like this Crazy Horse Show has brought only criticism for Lisa and absolutely no benefits, I don’t understand why she would do this.”
“A lot of people are saying Lisa might have joined the Illuminati.”
“Lisa’s Thai after all. Thai people have their own believes.”
“Everyone who wants to make it in Europe or America has to join the Illuminati—all the top celebrities and billionaires do.”
“It’s probably the hazing ritual for joining the Illuminati. The more humiliated you get, the more honours you get in the organisation.”
“This has really shown me how hard it must’ve been for Coco [Chinese singer] to make it on the international stage by herself. Even Lisa needs to resort to this to make it in the west.”
“I’m just worried the big idol companies are going to tell other idols, “A top celebrity like Lisa is willing to take her clothes off—why aren’t you?” I would really freak out.”
“Do you know how hard Korean idols have had to fight to put their clothes back on?”

Does "indescribable" here mean incredibly good-looking or incredibly bad-looking?
