【More reporting with the current CEO of Wahaha, a huge conglomerate in China, being sued by her father’s bastards for the trust fund that they were promised.]
#Court orders Zong Fuli to explain where 1.08 million USD went. #Zong Fuli shows balance at HBSC bank. “On the 15th of July, Everyday Economic News reporter obtained the originals of the lawsuit the three plaintiffs filed at the Hong Kong High Court. Said legal document shows that the plaintiffs are Jacky Zong, Jessie Zong, and Jerry Zong, who sued Kelly Zong [Zong Fuli] and Jian Hao Ventures (a company registered in the British Virgin Islands). Reporters noticed that this case began with the plaintiffs filing a suit.
Everyday Economic News reporters combed through the lawsuit and found the following four important points of information:
First, the three plaintiffs filed their lawsuit as early on as the 30th of December, 2024, just half a year after Zong Qinghou passed away, meaning that this family conflict has existed for a long time.
Two, after receiving the lawsuit, and evidence such as the lawyer’s confirmation and the plaintiff’s promise letter, the court issued a temporary order which banned Zong Fuli and Jian Hao Ventures from moving or intefering with any assets in the Hong Kong HBSC accounts opened by Jian Hao Ventures, nor move any proceeds that came from the assets in that account accumulated from the 2nd of February onwards.
And Wahaha’s founder, Zong Qinghou, passed away in February of 2024. That is to say, Zong Fuli’s assets in the Hong Kong HBSC Jian Hao Ventures accounts were once “frozen”.
Third, the three Zong siblings required that Zong Fuli provide information within 7 days about the following four points, which the court supported, including:
The latest balance at Hong Kong HBSC Bank.
If any assets in the HBSC bank has been used or transferred to a third party since the 2nd of February, 2024, then where the asset went, who received it, and under what circumstances was it moved out of the account.
As of the 31st of May, 2024, the bank balance showed that roughly 1.08million USD was transferred out of the account. Where is that money, how was it moved out of the account, and under what circumstances and to whom did it go to.
A detailed explanation of the movement of funds in the HBSC bank since the 2nd of February.
But the document also shows that the defendants can file a motion for the court to change or lift the temporary restrictions at any time, so long as the plaintiff’s lawyers are informed.
And Fourth, the temporary order was issued in accordance with Hong Kong’s High Court Policy Chapter 5, Line 21M, in order to assist the Hang Zhou Mid-Level People’s Court’s suit against Zong Fuli and Jian Hao Ventures.
Reporters looked up Hong Kong’s High Court Policy, and that particular line is called, “Temporary assistance when no actual legal processes are underway”.”
Comments say, “I’m suspicious of any business or individual registered in the British Virgin Isles. I tend to assume the worst is going on.”
“Lol, no matter how you put it, bastards are bastards.”
“I just gotta say Zong Fuli did a good job.”
“I’ve been hearing a pretty popular take recently.
Back in the day, the unspoken rule among the elites was that marital children inherited your business and developed within China, while extra-marital children lived a low-key live overseas and enjoyed themselves.
But this Zong Fuli case completely broke this rule. She wants to overthrow all the plans her dad had in life, with no room for mercy.
Her uncle Zong Zehou jumped out to accuse her of always being selfish from childhood, having no love for her family. This is what he’s referring to.
The biggest victim here, though, is the legend of the Jiangsu/Zhejiang/Shanghai only daughter.
We used to say that Shanghai triangle only daughters are the most popular female demographic on the marriage market, because they bring with them enormous wealth.
And now that a whole bunch of step-siblings have appeared out of nowhere, all the Shanghai only daughters can’t sit around anymore. They all gotta go home and interrogate their dad, “Am I really your only daughter? Is someone going to fight with me over inheritance?”
Zong Fuli broke another important tool of the elites, which is a family trust fund.
Before, an elite can have it all arranged before he passes to make sure all his children get some of his wealth after death, enough to let them live in the lap of luxury for several generations.
And now, Zong Fuli has destroyed those plans, and used information advantage to transfer 1.1 million USD out of the trust fund.
So, elites who are still alive might be a bit scared. They need to rethink their arrangement, in case their grave gets desecrated after death.
But that could only happen in China. Overseas, it doesn’t really matter if someone as wealthy as Zong Qinghou had a bunch of kids. Over there, they don’t care if you’re married or not, kids are kids.
Musk has a dozen kids. We don’t even know who some of their mothers are. But nobody ever says anything and he still has a ton of fans.
We’re just too conservative over here, so Zong Qinghou never let anyone know. And now that it’s been exposed, everyone’s super shocked.
It’s just like Wang Jing said, some celebrities might claim to be single and child-free, but they might’ve been married several times with multiple kids. It’s just that nobody knows about it.
The elites in China could only have one child because of the One Child Poilcy, but people like them would never be satisfied with just one.
These days, a lot of people have been exposed for having multiple kids, some inside their marriage, some without.
And inheritance is always difficult. A decade ago, the successor war in Korean’s Samsung company even involved the Korean President Park Geun-hye and caused her to end up in prison.
And there’s always drama around the successors of the Hong Kong billionaires.
Over here, at least, it’s just family in-fighting for now. It doesn’t seem to have spread to politics.
In addition, most second-gen elites will have political marriages out of concern for their family wellbeing, so they’re very cautious about marriage.
Or else according to the law, if half their stuff gets taken with every divorce, they could easily lose their family wealth.
Deng Wendi basically made a career out of marrying different elites until he became a elite himself.
So now, all the male second-gen elites are like Wang Sicong [son of the founder of the Wanda Group]. They’ll play around but they won’t think about marriage. If they want kids, they’ll figure out some other option.
Same with female second-gen elites. They’re worried people only want their money, so they don’t get married. They’ll play around, but they also won’t think about marriage, and if they need kids, they can get rid of the father and keep the child.”
#Man stopped by airport security throws portable charger which ignites. “On the 16th of July, Hubei, Wuhan, a man attempted to pass through airport security carrying a portable charger with no 3C license. After being turned away, he lost control over his emotions and threw the portable charger at the ground, causing it to self-ignite. The man has been put in administrative hold for 5 days for disrupting order of business.”
Comments say, “You can’t throw portable chargers, even if they had a 5C license.”
“Great, now everyone knows for sure you can’t bring portable chargers like that on the plane. Thanks.”
“Security: See, I told you it wasn’t safe.”
“Grok has detected that President Trump may be showing signs of edema that points to imminent danger.
His hands are bloated, ankles are bloated, his skin looks thin and is wrinkly.
The latest version of Grok can analyse the visual details in photos and label typical symptoms of edema. Edema is a form of fluid retention, and is associated with heart failure in 60% of cases.
Grok suggests that he visit a cardiologist. This is not politics. This is medicine.”
Comments say, “He’s at the end of his rope.”
“There’s a saying in my home town, “Three years of foot edema, a day of head edema.” It refers to kidney failure patients. If you have edema in your lower body, you can still live for another three years, but if the edema spreads to above your chest, or even in your head or face, then you don’t have much longer to live! So edema is seem as a sign of kidney function regression! So I guess I’ll preemptively wish President Trump a safe journey!”
“He’s about the right age anyways.”
#Girl living in Help Station for 9 years get into postgrad program. “In July, countless acceptance letters fly across the country. In the Yangpu District Help Station, Liang [a pseudonym] received her acceptance letter from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Liang has been living inside the Yangpu District Help Station for 9 years. [A help station is usually meant for providing homeless people with some food and deporting them back to their hometown.] She says she’s the Help Station’s daughter, and the workers there are her family.
Liang’s mother disappeared after she was born, and her father passed away from illness when she was 5. After a while spent alternating between the Help Station and foster families, she officially moved into the Yangpu District Help Station in 2016, and the workers at the station were determined to build her a “home”.
In 2020, with all of society’s eyes on her, she went into the Gaokao and was accepted to the Shanghai Health Medical College in the biomedical engineering major. During 4 years of college, the school waived Liang’s tuition, while Liang’s welfare covered her dorm fees and living expenses. Liang has planned out her future. She says she want to become a government worker. “I’m not saying I necessarily have anything to contribute. I just want to be a good cog in the machine.”
So far, the Yangpu District Help Station has made contact with Liang’s hukou residence, at the Ding Hailu Street Office, in order to apply for scholarships for Liang and ensure she can continue her studies.”
Comments say, “She’s unlucky yet lucky.”
“She’s a hard worker.”
“That’s great! The community and the help station were super nice too~”

Cheers.
Inheritance drama between children with different mothers is a chinese tradition that goes back to the imperial dynasties of old. Nice to see it return.
