07/14/24 - Would they just send out an F22 and send him to the bottom of the lake with a 3000 pound missile?
A compilation of what happens when you don’t have connections but try to pull connections to find a job:
”I work at a government-funded corporation. I’m not an official employee [that is, she’s a contractor], but it’s still relatively stable. I don’t work for a contractor company or whatever. My blood-related aunt told me to quit to go work at Hon Hai Precision [notoriously exploitative sweatshop, the ones with suicide nets].”
“My mom and my aunt pulled connections to find me a waitress job, where my main duties are mopping and cleaning the bathroom every day. I refused.”
“My MIL said she’d pull connections to get my husband a job, and they agreed but said we’d have to wait for an opportunity, and the job was manning cash trucks for the bank. Later, they asked if he wanted to work in digging wells, guaranteed to stuff him in if he pays 13K XD”
“I found myself a job in Xi’an, about 5-6K a month, if you count overtime pay during the holidays, it gets up to 7K. My parents told me to come back home and they’ll get me a job through relatives, and they stuffed me into city management. Now I get paid 2K a month and I’m not even a proper employee. I’ve worked it for four months and I’m already so done.”
“My uncle says he got me a job through connections and told me to come home. Once I did, he sent me a link to the hiring website for the local government-funded corporation, and told me to go submit my resume, and if they like it, I can get the job. Is this not literally just the normal process?”
“I found myself a job working ground crew at the airport, 6K a month, insurance and social security, two days on, two days off. My dad gave gifts and pulled connections to get me a job as a government chauffeur, no breaks, always on call, have to go pick up my boss when he’s done drinking at 3-4AM as soon as he calls me, no social security, 1800 RMB a month.”
“My relatives said there was an apprenticeship opportunity that’s really hard to get. I showed up just to find out that they’re just normally hiring. Now I don’t want to keep apprenticing anymore and I’m having a big fight with my family.”
“My cousin graduated from community college and found himself an office job. His mom pulled connections to find him a job as a security guard. He’s only 27 years old this year.”
“I have a college degree, and my dad gave me two bottles of Meng Zhi Lan [blue dreams, a type of baijiu] and two cartons of Zhonghua [best/most expensive cigarette brand] and told me to go find connections, and the guy asked me if I wanted to work as a car salesman.”
[I admit, 85% of this one, I just typed down what the AI translated, because all of this is way above my capabilities.]
#Kids line up to get adenoidectomies during summer break. “Lately, a lot of parents in Hangzhou are taking their kids to the hospital to have their adenoids removed. Doctor claims that around this time every year, they get a ton of adenoidectomy cases, mostly with 5-10 year old kids. At their busiest, they might perform over 10 adenoidectomies per day.
Our tonsils don’t work alone. Tonsils are formed of palatine tonsils, pharyngeal tonsils, eustachian tube tonsils, and lingual tonsils, and the adenoid is the pharyngeal tonsil. It’s a part of the nasalpharynx lymphatic tissue extending up to the back of the pharyngeal wall, and is shaped similar to the palatal tonsil but with shallow grooves and indents, with few branches. It contributes to immune function.
Adenoid hypertrophy can affect eustachian tube ventilation, causing tinnitus or eat tightness, or even chronic rhinitis, seriously affecting kids’ sleep quality. At the same time, adenoid hypertrophy can affect kid’s appearance as well. To be more specific, if a child breathes through their mouth long-term, it’ll affect the development of their alveolar bone, causing uneven teeth, higher arch of the hard palate, creating a “adenoid face”. But doctors explain that the adenoid will reach its biggest size when a child is 6-7 years old, and after that, it will begin to shrink at 10-12 years old.
In surgery, adenoid hypertrophy is split into three stages, and usually, only in the most severe case when the adenoid takes up 75% of the space in the nasal cavity will the doctors consider it to be a pathological case. Because of this, doctors suggest parents don’t blindly follow trends and listen to their doctor’s advice.”
Comments say, “Nobody wants to do surgery. It’s all doctors’ advice. Who’d sign up for random surgery for no reason?”
“A lot of kids go see doctors during summer break.”
“Tonsils are the gates to the immune system. If you get rid of it, viruses can attack your innards at will. Appendixes are also a part of the immune system. Humans have lived a long time. If something really was useless, we’d have evolved out of it a long time ago. Don’t cut anything out lightly.”
“The locked and loaded second assassination.
Trump was assassinated, and luckily got away mostly unscathed. Next, we need to analyse the possibility of a second assassination.
I’ve talked before about how the higher ups in the deep state hold quite a lot of “elite resources”. If they really wanted to do something about Trump, the hardest part is making the decision. There are a lot of factors involved here, like who’s going to make the final call, and whether they still have delusions. This delusions could include, “Biden might not necessarily lose.” “Even if Biden lost, the Republicans might not take both the House and Senate to let Trump have any power to do anything.” “We can control Trump like in his first Presidency.” “It’s not like Trump can do anything about the deep state.” etc, etc.
But after this assassination, these calculations might change a lot. Even before the assassination, the Democrats were in a terrible position. A lot of people were worried that Trump is going to win and take both the House and Senate. After this failed assassination, most people believe this possibility has become more likely. And now that he’s angry and afraid, Trump might go on the purge of the deep state now that he sees them as a threat. In this situation, a part of the deep state, especially those who were extremely active during January Sixth, might feel like they have to perform a second assassination, even if they weren’t involved in the first one.
And Trump’s mental state might provide them with a great opportunity.
A lot of people say that after the assassination, Trump very bravely lifted his bloody face and raised his fist and called for battle, and it was all very exciting. My point of view is exactly the opposite. I think this exposed the greatest flaw in Trump’s personality. There was just an attempted assassination. Nobody knows the situation yet. What if there was a second shooter? Even if he doesn’t care about the threat in the moment, he’s already got all the advantage, what does it matter if there’s a couple less photos of him being brave? Did he have to take such a dangerous opportunity to look good in front of the cameras? This is a sign of foolishness and vanity.
If Trump really is so vain, then he might very well make an irrational call like continuing to participate in large-scale outdoor rallies to satisfy his need for attention. This will provide great opportunity for the elite snipers who haven’t acted yet but will now.”
Comments say, “As someone who regularly participates in reality TV shows, Trump knows how to rile up the audience. I don’t think his heroic pose at the end was a result of his fundamental personality. Rather, he very rationally knew that this was the best way to maximise his win—after all, he’s a businessman. Even if that win is accompanied by huge risk, he’d take it.”
“Would they just send out an F22 and send him to the bottom of the lake with a 3000 pound missile?”
“On the other hand, though, if this wasn’t a deep state move and just a lone wolf shooter, would this demonstrate cause more copy cats? Either way, deep state or lone wolf, I don’t think the second assassination would be successful. It’s always the easiest to pull off the first time around.”
#Newest video of the Trump assassination is revealed. “The footage shows that the moment the gunshot rang out during Trump’s speech, the secret service sniper on the rooftop already located and killed the shooter.”
Comments say, “If these pictures and videos are real, then the conspiracy theorists can give it a rest. Look at the Chen Shuibian case [Taiwanese politician who was grazed in an assassination in his own election campaign]. The hand, feet, and stomach is one thing, but this guy was clearly aiming for the head. Who the hell has the guts to set that up deliberately? The most likely case is that Trump is just that lucky, the shooter was too far away, and at the moment of the shot, he happened to turn his head and escaped death.”
“The secret service sniper is pretty badass too.”
“They pretty much fired at the same time.”
#Woman wins 5 million lottery after divorce and ex-husband sued for 2 million? “According to Xiaoxiang News, a couple in Jiangxi got divorced but continued living together and never split assets. Then later, the woman won 5 million in the lottery…
The man sued his ex-wife in court, demanding half of the lottery winnings, and surprisingly, the court ruled he should have 2 million of it.
Why?
Mr. Qi was a divorced man, living with his parents and his son in affordable housing. He was introduced to also divorced Ms. Chen, and the two quickly got married. After marriage, Ms. Chen moved into the aforementioned affordable housing unit, and they had a son together. Because of schooling needs, Mr. Qi and Ms. Chen planned to purchase a unit of their own. In order to obtain permission to purchase a house while keeping their affordable housing unit, Mr. Qi and Ms. Chen signed a divorce agreement and filed their divorce proceedings. They never split their marital assets.
After the divorce, Ms. Chen purchased a unit, and Mr. Qi paid Ms. Chen 195K RMB for the house. Afterwards, they continued having mixed finances, and Mr. Qi, Ms. Chen, and their children continued living together and running their marketing business together.
On the 10th of May, 2022, Ms. Chen spent 2 RMB buying a lottery ticket and won 5 million RMB. After taxes, she received 4 million RMB in cash, and never informed Mr. Qi of this.
On the 9th of August, 2022, the two negotiated over their apartment unit and signed a contract, agreeing that the house purchased after divorce is the sole property of Ms. Chen, and Ms. Chen will pay Mr. Qi 250K RMB in compensation. After that, the two parties no longer had any emotional or financial exchanges. Ms. Chen paid Mr. Qi 250K in cash that day and signed the contract, and the next day, Mr. Qi moved out of the apartment. Soon after, Mr. Qi found out about Ms. Chen’s lottery win and sued her in court.
Ganzhou District People’s Court believes that after Mr. Qi and Ms. Chen’s divorce agreement, they never filled out remarriage paperwork. They lived together until August of 2022. According to the text exchanges Mr. Qi submitted, there is evidence that during their divorce, the two had no emotional involvement with each other, and only purchased an apartment together out of concern for their family. At the time of the divorce, they did not split their marital assets, and after divorce, they continued living together with mixed finances, operating a business together.
Because of their mixed finances, the 2 RMB Ms. Chen spent on her lottery ticket could not be proven to have come from only her personal assets, as opposed to Mr. Qi’s or mutual marital assets. Therefore, the 5 million RMB should be shared between both of them.
As a result, the court ruled that Ms. Chen must split 2 million of her winnings with Mr. Qi. After the ruling, Ms. Chen was unsatisfied and appealed. The appeals court denied the appeal and maintained the initial ruling.”
Comments say, “You lived together and had mixed finances even after divorce. You have no one to blame.”
“Didn’t they say that even fake divorces are real divorces? Why is all different here? What, you don’t think she could’ve afforded the 2 RMB on her own? What a joke.”
“You can’t even keep your assets safe with a divorce?”
“Lately, driverless taxis have become a trending topic. Honestly, various companies have been researching this for a while now, and they haven’t kept it a secret or anything. But I guess for humans, knowing it is one matter, experiencing it is another.
Remember when rideshare apps were first starting to become a thing ten years ago? There was a lot of opposition back then too. And it’s not any different now, nor would the end result be any different. I don’t think this is right or wrong. I just think it’s inevitability. The heavens do not preserve anything for Yao, do not destroy anything for Shun. [Most famous two mythological Emperors.]
When humans noticed that wooden logs can roll, the invention of the wheel became an inevitability. When the internal combustion engine was invented, the invention of cars became an inevitability. AI has been in development for decades, so it’s inevitable that driverless taxis would appear. Whether it’s this year, or the next year, whether they appear here or there.
Any kind of technological development screws over a portion of people. All society can do, and should do, is help out those who got screwed over, not to try to prevent the progress of technology. This is not because preventing technology is wrong, but because it’s futile. No attempt is going to work.
We live in rapidly changing times. We’ve probably experienced more change in the last 30 years than from Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. Whether these changes are for the better or for the worse depends on how well we adapt and accept these changes. If Li Hongzhang [famous Qing Dynasty diplomat] time travelled to today, he would be happy that China’s no longer afraid of Japan, but he’s also be depressed that the Qing Dynasty no longer exists.”
Comments say, “I think it’s okay to make driverless cars, but you can’t drop the price that low. The reason everyone is arguing is because the discounts make it significantly cheaper than normal taxis.”
“Why are so many people opposed to driverless taxis, but nobody cares that self checkout in supermarkets means that cashiers are losing their jobs?”
“I saw a programmer post a video about how if automatic drive systems ever got hacked, it would cause huge risk and there’s not a good way to prevent this. What do you think about the potential security problems?”
