04/10/24 - Various hospitals in Kuming are offering penis-washing services to men.
“Lately, the founder of Xibei [snack brand], Jia Guolong, brought up the 715 work schedule—seven days a week, 15 hours per day. People have called this schedule “slavery”, putting workers in a high-intensity work environment for long hours of time. But Xibei claims that all their workers voluntarily accepted this work schedule and sees it as the inevitable result of company development.”
OP also attaches screenshots of a tiktok video about steamed dumplings from Xibei, which sell for 29 RMB per 3 dumplings. When netizens complained it was too expensive, Xibei responded that, “We didn’t use normal flour, we used organic flour.” Reporters asked a random worker at a Xibei store, and they explained that the dumplings are chive, egg, and shrimp flavoured, each weighing 58-61 grams. “Every dumpling has 2-3 shrimp inside. There’s at least 1 shrimp in each dumpling.”
Comments say, “Time to boycott this shady business.”
“Where’s the unions?”
“I boycott any company that doesn’t treat its workers like people.”
“This is how manchildren are made!
A mother and son came to my counter yesterday to buy sneakers for the son. The boy was probably 12-13 years old, at least 170cm. The mom found a pair of shoes she liked and I got the right size for her, and the mom started asking the son, “Does it fit?”
“Yeah.”
“Does it pinch your toes?”
“Not at all.”
“Is it comfy to wear?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m still not sure. Walk around a bit more.”
Her son walked around a bit, and the mom had him take his shoes off, get the laces looser, and helped him do up the laces again, and made him walk around some more, and asked one last time whether it pinches, whether it’s comfortable, and finally decided on this pair.
Like, is all that necessary? Her kid’s not a baby, and he’s not a retard. You don’t have to be that stressed out, right?
How did your kids grow up? Either way, I free ranged my son.”
Comments say, “Yes, that was absolutely necessary. I feel this mom. Kids have no idea what they’re doing when they go to buy shoes. My son’s often bought new shoes last week only to complain this week that they’re too small. He never has a problem when he’s trying on shoes, but two days later, he’ll complain that it’s giving him blisters and refuse to wear them anymore. I’ve thrown away so many pairs of shoes because of this, and he never learns. It’s like this again next time. If I don’t want to waste my money, than I have to ask again and again like this mom.”
“My kid’s liked a pair of shoes so much that he insisted on buying it even though it was way too small for him. He wore it twice before deciding it was too painful to ever wear again. Just saying, we can’t assume anything. You can’t start criticising her when you don’t know anything about her.”
“Lol, who wants to be a nagging mom? Isn’t this just because shoe quality is up in the air, and kids never know what they want, and people don’t have infinite money?”
A tiktok video of a new way to help people figure out what hairstyle they want:
Comments say, “After she’s done getting her hair cut, if he also gonna cut off the extra flesh on the side of her face?”
“For people asking whether this works, I’ll just remind you, that all the hairstyles used in the photos have high domes. If you have a tall dome, where your head’s bigger than your face, and your facial features are catastrophically ugly, you can pull off any hairstyle you want. The problem is, we don’t have the high domes that the people in the pictures do.”
“He’s just using the customer’s facial features. The facial shape/silhouette is still from the models. Even if you got the exact same hairstyle, your facial shape might not be able to pull it off.”
A lawyer posts a screenshot of a comment, “I’m in Shenyang, just finished my arbitration in April. My mom paid off a house in full in Dalian, didn’t put anyone’s name on it but her own. Not even mine. But since me and my ex-wife lived in it the whole time we were married, she got to split 100K out of the total value of the house. The judge said their reasoning was that the house goes through wear and tear, and my ex-wife contributed to the value of the house by maintaining it, so she deserves a share…”
The lawyer writes, “A client showed me this comment and asked me if it was true—whether you might not be able to save your house even if you keep it under your parents’ name.
I can’t say for sure whether what this comment described actually happened. It’s certainly possible. But this guy said that this was just arbitration court. As far as arbitration goes, so long as both sides agree to it, you can get all kinds of crazy, ridiculous results.
In this case, if he insisted on not agreeing to the results of arbitration, then the judge couldn’t very well force this result on him either. I guess you have to hire a lawyer no matter how simple you think your case is.”
Comments say, “But in reality, is there any way they could force you to accept an arbitration result that you’re not happy with? Why else would the guy agree?”
“Is it possible that his ex-wife paid money towards getting the house remodelled?”
“I have no idea whether demand for divorce lawyers has gone up or down with these new policies.”
A tiktok video of a girl coming into class to study at 12:40AM, The teacher observes that she shows up to class first every day. “I’m sure God won’t let down a hardworking child!”
Comments say, “Shouldn’t we be worried about how much she’s sleeping?”
“Just have your kid work this hard every day. There’s no need to post this for everyone else to see.”
“Are we sure it’s 12:40AM? High school students are only going to bed about this time, right? Are we sure it’s not 5:40AM? Or, at worst, 4:40AM? Even Korean high school students get to sleep 4 hours a day!”
A notice from Kunming Health Department: “On the afternoon of the 9th of April, multiple media sources report that “Various hospitals in Kuming are offering penis-washing services to men”. We immediately contacted relevant law enforcement agencies to form a joint task force, and investigated the Yunnan Zhen’ai Hospital, Guandu Minsheng Hospital, and Yiliang Wuzhou Clinic mentioned in the reports. We will be posting further news about actions taken based on the results of our investigation.”
Comments say, “What the fuck. Can’t you boil some water and pour it into a thermos and wash it yourself?”
“What the fuck is penis-washing.”
“Whose husband and whose fathers are in there?”
“People with genetic illnesses, would you guys hate your parents?
Over a decade ago, when my brother was in primary school, he kept complaining about his legs hurting. We thought it was growing pains. Later on, we took him to many hospitals in Nanjing and Shanghai and couldn’t figure out what was going on. Finally, when the doctor asked us whether we have any family history of this, my dad finally admitted that he has Ankylosing spondylitis.
Then, later, when I was in middle school, I went to a tutoring class in the summer and had some AC blow on me, and all of a sudden, I couldn’t get up anymore and was bedridden for two days. My mom took me to get my blood drawn and check my B27, and I got diagnosed with AS too. Went through a very depressing three years in high school, and once I started working in university and had health insurance, I could finally get it treated. Whenever my medicine stops working, I get depressed again, and I’d hate my dad, because he knows there’s something wrong with him and he hid it from everyone.
I hear from my aunt that when my mom and dad were dating, my dad would stay seated the whole time and never get up. Back in the day, you didn’t have freedom of marriage. They got married after just three months together. AS shows up in my dad’s side of the family a lot. Several of his seniors and peers have it. Of our family of four, three people have AS. I just hate him, like why did it have to be me? Why couldn’t this happen to someone else? I know it’s evil to think this why.
Why do I hate my dad? Because I grew up in a deadbeat dad household. He would drink and gamble and sleep around, and never thought about his family. He lost all his money on gambling and would wrack up a lot of debt that my mom and my grandma has to pay on his behalf. Now that he has no business anymore, he’s got nothing to do all day, so he’s taken up fishing. Last night, he came home drunk and started throwing a tantrum. Broke two chairs at home, and smashed his ash tray and beer bottle and left glass shards all over the floor. He told us to all get the fuck out, since this is his house.
Honestly, if my family was happy, I might not be mad at him for my genetic condition, you guys know what I mean? My mom is always pushing for me to find someone to marry, but who would want to marry into a family like this? I’m honestly really upset. I don’t get to choose my parents. I’m always encouraging others on the internet, but I can’t even take care of myself.”
Comments say, “The genetic condition is just the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Your dad was a bastard all along.”
“I don’t think AS is heritable. It’s a genetic mutation.”
“You’ve already got it now. Nothing to do but make money, treat your condition, and walk the path that makes you happy.”
”So, this is what happened. When I came in for my morning shift, I saw the doctor on shift come towards me, dripping wet, with death in his eyes.
I was confused, until I saw this patient record.
All of a sudden, I didn’t feel so bad about being glared at all morning. I feel really bad for her.
But I also want to laugh.”
The patient record reads, “Patient did not sleep tonight. Relieved himself all over the floor, then rubbed it into his hair. Would not respond to questions about why he’s doing this. After failing to talk him down, patient became agitated and threw shit at me while laughing.”
Comments say, “He’s writing his resignation letter over night XD”
“There people with light symptoms and heavy symptoms even in the psych department. This seems like a pretty severe case. The floors for light cases are like heaven. Everyone’s super polite and sweet. I hear the floors for heavy symptoms are like hell.”
“I can’t believe you don’t keep people like this tied down. You guys are so nice.”
